I’m a science journalist by day. My works have appeared in lots of places. I am very Googleable, though I’m not the John Wenz who can advise you about finances, boats, cow diseases or rapping in the central Florida scene.

But I also have other interests in my life, and I’m using this newsletter to highlight them. So this is a little omnibus look into my life. What I’m reading, what I’m cooking. What my two annoying yet loveable cats are up to. How many oranges I’ve eaten this week. (Too many. Apollo 16 astronaut levels.)

I also struggle with bipolar disorder. I’d like to be open with that here. For the first time in a long time I’m trying to comprehensively work on it through individual and group therapy as well as medication, and I’d like to track my journey through this.

So this will be a newsletter with a few tracks. The science things I found neat this week. The things I wrote. The things my friends wrote. How my mental health is doing. What I’m listening to. What I’m reading. What my lazy cats are doing.

I’m going to mostly keep things free but I will admit that living in the Bay Area and having ongoing health costs, I would appreciate subscriptions and will perhaps kick in some premium content for it. Figuring out what that will mean as this is in progress …
